ทอดกฐินพระราชทาน

พระบาทสมเด็จพระเจ้าอยู่หัว ทรงพระกรุณาโปรดเกล้าฯ พระราชทานผ้าพระกฐิน ตามที่ รศ. นพ.วิกรม กรรณสกุล คุณพ่อนิกร กรรณสกุล พร้อมครอบครัว “กรรณสกุล” และครอบครัว “ชำนาญกิจ” ขอพระราชทานไปทอดถวายยังที่ชุมนุมสงฆ์ ณ วัดไทยกรุงวอชิงตัน, ดี.ซี. เมืองซิลเวอร์สปริง รัฐแมริแลนด์ สหรัฐอเมริกา ในวันอาทิตย์ที่ ๑๒ เดือนตุลาคม พุทธศักราช ๒๕๖๘

การทอดกฐิน ถือว่าเป็นกาลทานที่สมเด็จพระผู้มีพระภาคเจ้า มีพระบรมพุทธานุญาตให้พระภิกษุแสวงหาผ้าจีวรภายใน ๑ เดือนหลังจากออกพรรษาแล้ว ในกาลปัจจุบัน สาธุชนผู้มีจิตศรัทธาได้จัดผ้าไตรจีวรนำไปทอดถวายยังวัดที่มีพระสงฆ์จำพรรษาถ้วนไตรมาส ในแต่ละวัดสามารถทอดกฐินได้ปีละหนึ่งครั้ง จึงถือว่าเป็นการทำบุญที่มีอานิสงส์มาก

จึงขอเรียนเชิญผู้มีจิตศรัทธามาร่วมงานดังกล่าวโดยพร้อมเพรียงกัน

เวลา ๑๖.๐๐ น. ตั้งองค์ผ้าพระกฐิน เครื่องบริวารผ้าพระกฐิน ณ อุโบสถศาลาฯ นักเรียนโรงเรียนวัดไทยฯ ดี.ซี. บรรเลงดนตรีสมโภชองค์ผ้าพระกฐิน

เวลา ๑๖.๓๐ น. ทำวัตรสวดมนต์เย็น

เวลา ๑๗.๐๐ น. พิธีเจริญพระพุทธมนต์สมโภชองค์ผ้าพระกฐิน

วันอาทิตย์ที่ ๑๒ ตุลาคม ๒๕๖๘

เวลา ๑๐.๐๐ น. พุทธบริษัทพร้อมกันบนอุโบสถศาลาพุทธมงคลวิมลดีซี

ประธานในพิธีจุดธูปเทียนบูชาพระรัตนตรัย สมาทานศีล พระสงฆ์เจริญพระพุทธมนต์

เวลา ๑๐.๓๐ น. ทำบุญตักบาตรแด่พระสงฆ์ ๙ รูป

เวลา ๑๑.๐๐ น. ถวายภัตตาหารเพล

เวลา ๑๒.๓๐ น. อัญเชิญองค์ผ้าพระกฐินและเครื่องบริวารผ้าพระกฐินแห่รอบอุโบสถ ตั้งองค์ผ้าพระกฐินและเครื่องบริวารบนอุโบสถศาลาพุทธมงคลวิมลดีซี

เวลา ๑๓.๓๐ น. ฟังพระธรรมเทศนา ๑ กัณฑ์

เวลา ๑๔.๓๐ น. ประธานถวายผ้าพระกฐินพระราชทาน, ถวายเครื่องบริวารผ้าพระกฐิน พระสงฆ์อนุโมทนาและถวายอดิเรก

“Thod Kathin” or Kathina is an almsgiving period that takes place during the month following the monks’ completion of the Rains Retreat (Buddhist Lent). In the Buddha’s time, monks were permitted to seek new robes within one month after the Rains Retreat. Today, laypeople offer these robes instead. This offering is an act of merit-making that strengthens the spiritual bond between the lay community and the monastic order. Each temple may receive a Kathina offering only once per year.

This year’s Royal Kathina Robe Offering Ceremony is an especially auspicious occasion. His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua of Thailand has graciously bestowed the Royal Kathina robes upon the resident monks of Wat Thai Washington, D.C., at the request of the Kathina Chairpersons: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Wikrom Karnsakul, M.D., Mr. Nikorn Karnsakul, and the Karnsakul and Chamnankit families. The ceremony upholds Thailand’s virtuous traditions and supports Buddhism and its sacred activities.
